Celebrate Your Connection to County Offaly
Celebrate your connection to County Offaly with this Heritage Crest Print from the Ireland Inspires Origins Collection.
Featuring the County Offaly coat of arms, the design offers a refined way to honor the county’s history, landscape, and the generations whose story began in Uíbh Fhailí.
About the Design
Set against a softly textured parchment-style background, the print presents the County Offaly crest in a carefully rendered watercolor style.
The composition brings together the county’s green, white, and gold colors with symbols connected to its ancient Gaelic heritage, religious history, and distinctive bogland landscape.
The softened watercolor finish preserves the character of the original arms while creating an understated heritage piece suited to both traditional and contemporary homes.
About the County Offaly Crest
The County Offaly coat of arms features a gold lion representing the Uí Failghe people, the ancient kingdom from which the county takes its modern name.
The lion holds a distinctive cross inspired by the Book of Durrow, reflecting Offaly’s early Christian heritage. At the base of the shield, a black section represents the county’s extensive boglands and carries a sprig of bog rosemary, a flower closely associated with the raised bogs of the Irish Midlands.
The green, white, and gold sections reflect Offaly’s county colors, while the motto Esto Fidelis means Be Faithful, recalling the county’s traditional nickname, The Faithful County.
About County Offaly
Known as The Faithful County, Offaly is shaped by broad boglands, fertile countryside, historic monastic sites, and the River Shannon.
From Clonmacnoise and the Slieve Bloom Mountains to Birr Castle and the Bog of Allen, the county’s landscape and history have created a distinctive identity at the heart of Ireland.
